    Michael Cassell is the Chief Technology Officer and co-owner of Communications Electronics (CEI), a Maryland-based family business founded in 1976 and focused on providing wireless communications solutions. Today, CEI is one of the largest and most influential Motorola dealers in the US and also has thriving lines of business in the DAS, Intelligent Transportation, and Security and Access Control industries.  CEI has a diverse portfolio of customers including Department of Commerce, the State of Maryland, Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, University of Maryland, Social Security Administration, Trump Hotel, the Holocaust Museum, and The World Bank. CEI’s focus on mission-critical communications and strong background in both the public safety and wireless service provider sectors has uniquely positioned the company to excel in today’s marketplace.

    After growing up immersed in the wireless industry, Michael completed his Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Maryland. Leveraging his experience and education, Michael spent the next ten years in the Wireless Service Provider sector as a consultant with LCC, Inc. providing network planning leadership worldwide to the likes of Optus Pty. Ltd., Cellular One, Pac Bell Mobile Systems, Telfort Mobile, and the ill-fated NextWave Personal Communications.  After spending a year with Aether Systems, a leading software provider for mobile networks, Michael returned to CEI and started a DAS practice in 2002. Building on the company’s public safety background and his diverse experience with both public safety and wireless service providers, Michael has been able to build the DAS team into a full turn-key solutions group providing a wide range of industry leading solutions.

    In addition to his position on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of CEI, Michael is a partner in The 1924 Group, The Cassell Group, and The 1955 Group as well the Chairman of the Board of Crossroads Community Church, a large non-denominational multi-campus church based in Westminster, MD.
